The Christmas Coins was inspired by the parable of the lost coin. (Luke 15:8-10) What woman having ten pieces of silver, if she lose one piece, doth not light a candle, and sweep the house, and seek diligently till she find it? And when she hath found it, she calleth her friends and her neighbours together, saying, Rejoice with me; for I have found the piece which I had lost. I love so much about this parable. I love that the woman's first act is to light a candle. She shines a light on the loss--she doesn't try to hide it, but she examines it. Then, she cleans house! The cleaning is part and parcel of the seeking. She doesn't sit and wait for someone else to come and help, instead; she gets busy. I hope whatever you're looking for in your life; you find. Sometimes, it's hard to know exactly what will make us happy. So often, I find myself looking in all the wrong places, climbing all the wrong ladders, and chasing the wrong dreams. I have to stop and remember that I might not know which tail (or, as an author--which tale) I should be chasing, but Heaven does. And Heaven's help is just a prayer away.
