This is the beginning of a new series revolving around the Haywood family and set in a rural town in the Pacific Northwest that may look suspiciously like my hometown of Arlington, Washington. I thoroughly enjoyed this sweet romance/mystery by Kristy Tate. Our main characters, Caden & Sadie, came from very different backgrounds, and yet seemed to have so much in common. They each had dreams of a life with marriage and children, but had obstacles to overcome for that to happen. I loved how their relationship built slowly over the time they were somewhat “forced” together, until they became dependent upon and important to each other.

Caden and Sadie’s surrounding family and friends were colorful characters who, in most cases, loved and supported them, encouraging them out of their comfort zones. The story was sweet and clean, and I loved how it ended. The author is a talented storyteller, and I look forward to reading more of her work in the future.
