Catfish Marketing Campaign, Day 16 Twitter

Just opened my twitter account. I’m a newbie and know nothing, but I’m passing along some advice I gleaned on the kindle boards.

Today is #litchat day.

If you follow @litchat, you'll see the questions and get in the loop faster. The account manager will send out reminders just before and say what the topic is. It starts at 1pm EDT today (Monday) and is usually an open session for random chatting.

This is a good day to put your new tools and skills to use.

1. Open tweetdeck and make a column for #litchat
2. Set a reminder on your calendar to 12:45 ET. (You'll need to adjust for your local time)
3. Watch the #litchat hashtag and see what people talk about, how they do it, what it looks like.
4. Don't feel like you need to say anything at all. Just watch. This is particularly important if you're new to this idea and aren't really comfortable with the speed at which things flow.
5. If somebody seems really interesting .. that is, they've made several contributions to the chat that you thought were well done, intriguing .. right click on their name and look at their profile. See what's there and maybe follow them.
6. At the end of the chat (it ends at 2pm ET so you're tying up an hour or some part of it), close the column.

Since I’m brand new, I’m going to sit and watch the river. Maybe I’ll have more to say before the campaign is over. Maybe not. We’ll see.
