Last week I decided to run an experiment. My novella, Love at the Apple Blossom Inn, was not selling, so I decided to make it free. I dropped it's price on the Draft to Digital site, and once I'd been notified that it was free on Barnes and Noble and Apple, I contacted Amazon. It took them a few days to match the price. Friday night before I went to bed I saw that the price had dropped. Because I didn't have time over the weekend, I didn't promote the book at all. Since then, the book has been downloaded 350 times. Here are the Amazon stats.
I just spent an hour listing it on a variety of free promotional sites. I didn't pay for any of these services and I don't know how many will actually post the book. Because many advertisers ask for the same info, I've found it easiest to make a promotional page for each of my books that I'm sharing.
